Make-Up Collection...This is not hoarding - Part 2

Now for... the make-up.  I was always a bareMinerals user, like I've said, but I'm trying new things lately.  I went to a CCO (Cosmetics Company Store) and purchased a MAC eye shadow and Paint Pot and loved them.  So, I branched out and purchased more items.  I regularly use my Painterly Paint Pot and All That Glitters eye shadow.  Here are some pictures and info.

All my make-up (except lip products) fits into this one carry case.  It's a Sonia Kashuk, from Target.

The top portion holds a pencils and misc items

The bottom portion is my other face and eye items

Here's what was in the top part:  Old Sonia Kashuk compact that I use as a mirror, Tweezerman Tweezers, Brow Brush, Wet N' Wild eye shadow palette, Urban Decay 24/7 Liner Pencils (Electric, Underground, and Zero), NYX Liner Pencil (White Pearl), and NYX Jumbo Eye Shadow Pencils (Cottage Cheese, Iced Mocha, and Pots & Pans)

Inside the case are my face products.  I have Revlon Foundation, a Too Faced concealer, some bareMinerals face products, Maybelline Dream Mousse Blush, MAC Cream Blush, ELF Blush, bareMinerals Busom Lashline, and some ELF all over face products

My eye products

MAC Paint Pot (Painterly), Benefit Cream Shadow (Birthday Suit), BM Liner Shadow in Soft Black, BM in Chenille, BM in Cultured Pearl, BM in Vanilla Sugar

BM in Nude Beach, BM in Rose Petal, BM in Pebble, BM in Passionate Plum, BM in Red Velvet, BM in Tiramisu, and BM in Chocolate Fondue

LEFT: ELF Blush in Candid Coral; MIDDLE: Top - BM Warmth, BM Clear Radiance, Middle - BM Compatibles in Joyous Jennifer & Sorbet, BM Blush in Giddy Pink, and Bottom - BM samples in Beauty and Golden Gate; RIGHT: MAC Cream Blush in Sweet William, Maybelline Dream Mousse Blush in Peach Sation

MAC Shadow Palette: TOP - Scene, Brule, All That Glitters; BOTTOM - Knight, Woodwinked, Sable

All my lip products - I'm not going to list all of them, but the glass jar is a MAC Paint Pot in Girl Friendly (I love the color tapped on my lips lightly).  On top is a Wet N' Wild lipstick and a Sephora one, 2 ELF lip stains, 3 Menthol lip glosses from B&BW, a Kat Von D gloss, MAC glass, 2 BM Buxom glosses, a Smashbox gloss, and Urban Decay lip stain, and then a Maybellone gloss and 2 small Tarte glosses

Everyday Neutral Eye Make-up...

I wasn't sure what to write about today so I decided to do a make-up post because I love make-up!  This was the make-up I wore today... neutral but still a little dressed up because I had a day date with my hubby.  He went grocery shopping while I cleaned and go showered... that was so nice of him, wasn't it?  We went to see The Green Hornet and out to dinner.  We weren't ready to go home afterwards so we ended up at Target  for some essentials and gifts for my god-son and then to Best Buy because I wanted Zumba for Wii but they didn't have it so the hubs got a game for PS3 instead.  Lastly, we stopped at the grocery store for some Red Bull, Naked Juice, a few items for our lunch tomorrow, and rented Knight and Day.  So, here I am sitting on the next to my hubby watching a movie and blogging.  Tomorrow should be lots of fun!

P.S.  GO PACK GO!

Make-up for a night on the town...

Tonight my sister has a work event downtown and asked me to do her make-up and hair.  I love make-up so I of course said "Yes!"  I have been watching a lot of Youtube beauty videos and have built up my make-up collection a lot in the last year based on some of their suggestions.  I was an avid bareMinerals user for over 5 years but my skin has been pretty dry lately so I started using a liquid foundation for more moisture.  Per the suggestion of Beauty Broadcast I tried Maybelline Super Stay and I love it!  There have been some other products I've purchased as well - some good, some not so good.  You may notice that most of my make-up is bareMinerals because I have it and I want to finish using that before I try something else.

This is my first make-up tutorial so I hope you enjoy it and let me know if there's anything else you want to see!

NIGHT ON THE TOWN

Here are the products I used on her face:

  • Maybelline Super Stay Makeup 24 Hour - for full coverage
  • Maybelline Super Stay Concealer 24 Hours - for full coverage
  • bareMinerals Original Foundation - for matte finish
  • bareMinerals Eye Brightener Well Rested - to open the eyes and look more awake
  • bareMinerals Warnth - contour/bronzer
  • bareMinerals Clear Radiance - highlighter on the cheek bones and temples, down the nose, and in the cupid's bow
  • MAC Blushcreme Pearl in Sweet William - when using a cream blush always use a powder blush so it doesn't run
  • bareMinerals Blush in Giddy Pink
  • E.L.F Blush in Candid Coral - she wanted a little more color but not such a bright pink so this was the perfect shade and worked well with Warmth
Here are the products I used on her eyes:
  • Too Faced Shadow Insurance - eye lid primer
  • MAC Paint Pot in Painterly - all over the lid will cover veins that show on the lid
  • NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil in Cottage Cheese - used under the brow and in the corner of the eye for a highlight; you will have to blend it in
  • bareMinerals Eye Shadow in Cultured Pearl - over the cream pencil for highlight
  • MAC E/S in Knight - on the outer 1/3 of the lid and blend inward
  • bareMinerals E/S in Rose Petal - on the outside of the lid/crease and blended up
  • bareMinerals E/S in Tiramisu - in the crease and blended
  • MAC E/S in All That Glitters - used on the middle 1/3 of the lid for a sheen
  • MAC E/S in Sable - used in the crease for a sheen
  • bareMinerals in Nude Beach - for a little glitter effect
  • bareMinerals Buxom Lashliner in Leatherette
  • Cover Girl Lash Blast Volume in Black
    • We also used some false lashes but that's optional
Here's the finished product... she looked beautiful!

New Year's Resolutions... Can I make them stick?

This is my first blog post on my second attempted blog.  Does that make sense?  Well, I was blogging earlier this year but that lasted about a month.  I have come to realize that I am the type of person that will start a thousand things and maybe 2 will get completed.  Is anyone else like that?  I am starting again because I feel like 2011 is going to be a great year and I want proof!  Plus, I've been reading a lot of blogs lately and it seems like it's a great creative outlet... a place where you can be yourself and if people don't like it they'll just go to another website.  I think the blog will also keep me in check with New Year's Resolutions - hopefully.  I stopped making New Year's Resolutions a couple years ago because I just didn't think they were worth it.  This year feels different.

First, I want to lose some weight.  I think everyone starts the year like that but my husband has turned into gym-going machine.  He goes at 4:30 every morning and since his alarm wakes me up, I might as well go.  What's the harm in getting healthy right?  Lord knows I need to!

Second, I want to post a blog a day.  Interesting stuff happens everyday and by the end of month, I forget what happened!  Do you ever feel like your life is in a rut?  I'm thinking I believe mine is because I do the same thing over and over.  Won't my blogs be boring if I'm always doing the same thing?  I think so. My solution to post a blog every day and maybe it'll spice up my life a little.

Lastly is a mixed fun goal.  Two projects I've read about - Project 365 and Project10Pan.  I read a blog about each last year.  Project 365 is this great idea to take a picture, preferablly with you in it, a day.  Since I plan on posting a blog a day, it will hopefully come with a picture.  I love taking pictures and then looking back at them and remembering good times.  It's the best feeling.  The next part of my personal goal is Project10Pan.  My sister and hubby are always telling me how much make-up I have... I don't think I do but my solution is Project10Pan.  You are supposed to use 10 of your make-up products completely before purchasing anything new.  I will agree with them that I have 10 things I can use up.  This should be fun.  I might post a blog of my make-up "collection" to prove I don't have that much.

In conclusion, this should be a fun year.  (Do people say "in conclusion" on a blog?  I don't know but I just did)

Peace!
